About Afghanistan Iraq Veterans War Memorial Fund

Flashbacks: Veterans may experience vivid and distressing memories of traumatic events, making them feel as if they are reliving those moments.
Nightmares: Frequent and intense nightmares related to their traumatic experiences can disrupt veterans' sleep patterns and contribute to anxiety and depression.
Avoidance: Many veterans with PTSD tend to avoid places, people, or situations that remind them of their traumatic experiences, limiting their daily activities.
Hyperarousal: This symptom involves heightened levels of anxiety, irritability, and difficulty concentrating, making it challenging to maintain healthy relationships and employment.
Emotional Numbing: Veterans with PTSD often struggle with emotional numbness, feeling detached from their own emotions and those of others.

Reaching Out

Since the creation of the Committee to honor our Veterans of these wars, we have been, in coordination with the City of Danbury, reaching out to area businesses and residents for support. The Committee intends to complete the Memorial project in time to dedicate it on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend May 25th, 2024. However, we are in need of the necessary funds to construct the monument and, therefore, are requesting your support and sponsorship in the form of a monetary donation to the Memorial fund
